Starting with renewals in 2025, as per Section 1012.585(3)(f) F.S., ANYONE with the following areas on their Florida Teaching Certificate MUST acquire 40 hours of professional learning credits “specifically designed for students with characteristics of dyslexia, including the use of explicit, systematic, and sequential approaches to reading instruction, developing phonological and phonemic awareness, decoding, and implementing multisensory intervention strategies."
The following are currently the only methods to fulfill this requirement:
- Exploring Structured Literacy (40 hours) (FDLRS) upload the certificate of completion and email directly lee.jejetta@mybradford.us
- Science of Reading: An Introduction (5 hours) (FDLRS) upload the certificate of completion and email directly lee.jejetta@mybradford.us
- Literacy Micro-Credential-ELEMENTARY (60 hours) (UF Flamingo) upload the certificate of completion and email directly lee.jejetta@mybradford.us
- Literacy Micro-Credential-SECONDARY (60 hours) (UF Flamingo) upload the certificate of completion and email directly lee.jejetta@mybradford.us
- Reading Endorsement Coursework (60 hours each course) upload the certificate of completion and email directly lee.jejetta@mybradford.us
